Your child will wear a small vest with a pocket. Inside the pocket goes a tiny device called LENA — it counts how much language your child hears and uses throughout the day.
How to Record

Press the Power button

Press the Record button

Put the device in the vest pocket, snap it closed, and put the vest on your child
- 4
That's it — leave it alone. It turns off by itself after 16 hours.
Take the vest off when:
- •Your child goes in water (bath, pool, etc.)
- •Your child goes to bed for the night
Keep the vest nearby so you can put it back on in the morning!
Skip recording days when:
- •Your child is sick in bed
- •Your child is at daycare, school, or a party for most of the day
- •Your child is outside playing sports for most of the day
Any normal day at home is a great day to record.
