Our Studies

Research Programs

We run studies for children with typical hearing, children who are d/Deaf or hard-of-hearing, and babies. All studies are designed as fun, game-like activities in a child-friendly environment.

We are recruiting children aged 3.0 to 6.5 years old who speak English as their primary language (at least 70% of the time) with no developmental delays.

What Happens During a Visit

Children complete language-related activities involving listening to words and sounds while using an eye-tracker to choose pictures on a screen. All activities are designed as fun games.

Research Goal

This study examines how children understand language in different listening conditions. The findings contribute to developing better support methods for children who are d/Deaf or hard-of-hearing. We also have a testing location at the John Tracy Center in Los Angeles.
