Madison Paron

Madison Paron is a PhD student at Stanford, where she works with the Speech and Cognitive Development Lab. Her research examines how children learn language in complex and variable environments, with a focus on how they use social and pragmatic cues to acquire language meanings and build abstract linguistic representations. She received her B.A. in Cognitive Science, with a concentration in Language and Mind, and a minor in American Sign Language and Deaf Studies from the University of Pennsylvania, where she also worked in a second-grade classroom at the Philadelphia School for the Deaf. Prior to graduate school, she worked in language and memory labs at UPenn, including the Computational Memory Lab, Child Language Lab, and Language and Learning Lab. Outside of research, she enjoys spending time with her family and exploring the Bay Area.
