Postdoctoral Researcher

Yueyan Tang is a postdoctoral researcher at the Speech and Cognitive Development Lab. Her research focuses on child social and language development, and using naturalistic speech corpora and automated speech recognition pipelines to study how children learn language in the environments where it actually happens. As part of her doctoral work, she developed OpenBabyographer, an open-source infant wearable for collecting and processing naturalistic developmental data. She received her Ph.D. in Cognitive Science from UC San Diego, where she was advised by Gedeon Deák, and her B.S., also from UC San Diego, in Cognitive Science and Probability and Statistics. Outside of research, she loves creative writing in Chinese and is learning to play soccer.
